Most of our partners primarily carry mixed breeds, so we may recommend mixed breeds or similar breeds that closely match your desired characteristics.

The number of matches you receive depends upon the availability of pets that closely match your needs and preferences. Our goal is to prioritize quality over quantity by recommending pets that are the best fit for your lifestyle, and the pets’ lifestyle. Typically, PetMatch will provide anywhere between 5-10 matches.

Customers can expect to receive their matches within one business week after purchasing a plan and completing the questionnaire. However, the exact timeframe depends on the availability of pets that meet your needs and preferences.

Each PetMatch purchase is intended to help you find one pet. If you wish to adopt another pet in the future, you will simply purchase another PetMatch plan and complete a new questionnaire so we can find the best matches for your current situation.

Yes, if you’d like access to additional benefits after purchasing a plan, you may upgrade at any time by paying the difference between your current plan and the upgraded plan.

Yes. PetMatch helps you find pets that fit your lifestyle, but every adoption is completed directly through the shelter, rescue organization, or pet store caring for the animal. You’ll still need to complete that organization’s adoption process and meet its requirements. Depending on the plan you purchase through us, we will be there to assist you through the entire process.

No. PetMatch is an individual organization that works alongside shelters, rescue organizations, and pet stores. PetMatch’s pricing covers our personalized pet matching service and any benefit included with your selected plan. Adoption fees are set separately by each of our partners and are paid directly to that organization.

No, PetMatch is a pet adoption matchmaking service, not an adoption agency. While we work hard to connect you with pets that fit your lifestyle, all adoption decisions are made solely by the shelter, rescue organization, or pet store. Since every organization has its own adoption policies, we cannot guarantee that an adoption will be approved.

If your application was denied, we’ll continue searching for other pets within our network of partners that match your needs and preferences at no additional cost. Our goal is to help you find the right companion, no matter how long the search takes. Because PetMatch provides a personalized matchmaking service, plans are generally non-refundable once the matching process has begun.

While PetMatch carefully works to find the right match for you and your lifestyle, we understand that unexpected situations can happen. If you need to rehome or surrender your pet within 3 months of bringing the animal home, we will continue working with you at no additional cost to help you find a better match. Please note that PetMatch plans are non-refundable, as we provide a personalized matchmaking service and dedicate time and resources to each client. If you would like to continue using our services after the 3-month support period, a new plan will need to be purchased.

Yes, we share the information provided from your questionnaire that is needed to help our partner organizations evaluate and identify suitable pets they may have available. We take your privacy very seriously and never sell your personal information to third parties.
